Blushing and Shy Kaomoji

How blushing is drawn

Text has no color, so blushing is drawn with marks on the cheeks.

• Slashes such as /// or ⁄ ⁄ are red lines across the cheeks. The more slashes, the redder.
• 〃 marks beside the eyes, as in (〃ω〃), are soft pink cheeks.
• Commas like ,, under the eyes are small blush spots.

Shy, flustered or embarrassed?

These three feel different, and the faces show it:

• Shy: looking down or offering a flower, like (´,,•ω•,,)っ✿.
• Flustered: eyes squeezed shut and heavy blush, often after a compliment.
• Embarrassed: hands over the face, as in (*ﾉ∀`*).

When to use them

Send a blushing face when someone compliments you, when your crush replies, or when you said something silly. They are also very common in reading chats when a love scene gets intense.

On Discord, faces that use * on both sides can turn into italics. Use the Discord-safe copy so the stars stay.

Replying to a compliment

Taking a compliment can feel awkward. A blushing face does the job for you. “Thank you (〃ω〃)” says “that made me happy and a bit shy” in two words. If the compliment came from a crush, a face hiding behind its hands is cute and honest. If it came from a teacher or coworker, a small smile is the safer pick.
