Ears, fangs and wings
The classic bat is /|\ ^._.^ /|\. The /|\ on each side are wings, the carets are pointed ears and ._. is a small snout. It uses only keyboard characters, so it shows up on every device. For fangs, put α΅₯α΅₯ under the eyes, as in ββ(β’Μα΅₯α΅₯β’Μ)β β, where the hooked bracket pieces ββ β β curve like folded wings.
The goth wing frames
Many popular bats use π© πͺ as wings, like π©(^._.^)πͺ. These are Egyptian hieroglyphs that happen to look like wings. Others use Tibetan letters, as in ΰ½ΰ½²(β’α΅₯α΅₯β’)ΰ½ΰΎ. Both look striking on new phones, but they are rare characters, so every face that uses them carries the device label. If a friend sees boxes, send the keyboard bat instead.
When to send a bat
Bats fit Halloween, vampire jokes, goth and emo bios, and anyone still awake at three in the morning. A sleeping bat, ββ( -β±
- )β β, says βhanging upside down until noonβ. A bat with heart eyes is a spooky-cute way to send love in October. Bats also pair well with ghosts and spiders when you decorate a whole Halloween post.
