Simple dividers to copy

These use common symbols, so they display well on almost every device.

Need more lines without a face in them? On cutefonts.art there is a longer set of text dividers and two-line frames, each with its length shown.

Framing a face

Some kaomoji already come with their own frame of stars or flowers, like ⋆。˚ ( ˘◡˘ ) 。˚⋆ or ✿*:・゚( *´ω`* )゚・:*✿. To frame any face yourself, put the same short pattern on both sides, mirrored: what is on the left should face the face from the right too. For a box, use a top line ┌──── ♡ ────┐ above your text and a bottom line └──── ✿ ────┘ below it.

Avoid broken borders

Popular coquette borders use ribbon characters like ୨୧ and bonnet brackets like ꒰ ꒱. They are pretty, but they come from rare scripts and may show as boxes on older devices. On Discord, borders with * or ~~ can turn into italics or crossed-out text, so put a backslash before those symbols. Always preview your bio or post before you share it.

Where borders work well

Dividers shine in places with several parts: an Instagram or TikTok bio with a few lines, a Discord About Me, a server rules post, or the header of a journal or study note. Use one style per profile so it looks tidy. A divider made only of keyboard keys, like the row of cats above, also works in plain text places where symbols are blocked.

Questions

How do I make a cute text divider?

Pick one or two symbols, repeat them with spaces, and put a bigger symbol in the middle. Keep it short enough for one line.

Why does my border show boxes?

It uses rare characters that some devices cannot display. Swap them for common symbols like ✿ ♡ ☆ ⋆.

Why did my border turn into italics on Discord?

Asterisks and double tildes are formatting marks on Discord. Put a backslash before each one.
