How to use the maker
- Pick the eyes. They decide the feeling: happy, sleepy, crying, sparkly or surprised.
- Pick a mouth. Small mouths feel cute, wide mouths feel loud.
- Add cheeks if you want blush.
- Add arms to make the face do something: hug, wave, cheer.
- Add decorations like hearts, flowers, stars or music notes.
- Copy your face and paste it anywhere.
What each part does
Eyes: ^ ^ are smiling, • • are calm and curious, ≧ ≦ are squeezed with joy, T T are crying, ˘ ˘ are closed and peaceful.
Mouths: ω is the soft cat mouth, ▽ is a big laugh, ‿ is a gentle smile, Д is a shout.
Cheeks: 〃, * or slashes add blush on both sides.
Arms: つ reaches out, ⊂ ⊃ opens for a hug, ヽ ノ waves, ٩ ۶ cheers with fists.
Tips for a face that looks good
- Mirror the sides. Arms and cheeks look best in pairs that face each other.
- Start simple. Eyes and a mouth already make a face. Add one extra at a time.
- Match the mood. Crying eyes with a cheering mouth can look confusing, unless that is the joke.
- Keep names short. For a display name, skip long decorations.
Animal faces
Many people want only one part, like cat ears or a cat mouth. For a cat, put ^ outside each eye for ears and use the ω mouth: the result looks like (=^・ω・^=). For a bear, a snout in the middle does the trick. Browse the animal pages for ideas, then build your own twist here.
Will it show for everyone?
Some parts use rare characters from other alphabets. They look great on new phones but can turn into boxes on older devices. If your face is going into a username or a bio, test it by sending it to a friend first.
Questions
Can I make my own kaomoji?
Yes. Pick eyes, a mouth, cheeks, arms and decorations in the maker and copy the result.
How do I make cat ears in a kaomoji?
Put a caret ^ outside each eye and use the ω mouth, as in (=^・ω・^=).
Is my kaomoji saved?
Copy it right away and paste it where you need it. You can also save faces from the library to your favourites with the heart.
Why does my face look different after I paste it?
Each app and phone draws characters with its own font, so spacing can shift a little. Rare parts can also show as boxes on older devices.
